European leagues are back!
The coronavirus pandemic changed almost everything. Regular life change drastically. And the professional sport was hit hard. Finally coronavirus pandemic slowed down, and many European leagues are combing back. But some of them already finished the season.
Almost every league in Europe should be finished because they need to make a qualification for the Champions League and Europa League. There are many battles before they can move forward to the next season.
UEFA had a deadline where leagues need to bring the outline of how and when they can finish the season. But some of the leagues are done, like Dutch Eredivise, Ligue 1, Belgian FA.
FIFA medical committee chairman, Michel D’Hooghe says that he doesn’t believe that football will return until September. But some of the leagues will start in a short time, and not to mention the Bundesliga already started. When are the leagues will resuming?
Finally, Serie A, La Liga, Premier League, and Primeira Liga will return in a short time. Spanish La Liga should start on 11th June, Premier League on 17th June, Serie A on 20th June, and Primeira Liga starts on the first week of June.
Premier League
Premier League should start on June 12, but the clubs decided that the league will start on 17th June. They want to follow all safety requirements. First matches should be played between Aston Villa and Sheffield United and Manchester City and Arsenal.
Players start to train in May. In the beginning, they need to take care of strict social distance. But later they start with contact training. All the matches of the current season will be played without fans at the stadiums.
All players will be tested twice a week for the coronavirus. And if any of the staff or players will be positive, everyone will need to be in the self-isolation for seven days.
Spanish La Liga
Spanish La Liga will start on June 8th, announced Spanish prime minister Pedro Sanchez. But in the meantime, they change the date and La Liga will start on the 11th of June. In La Liga teams have to play 11 more rounds. At the top of the league, we can see Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The last played game in La Liga was the match between Eibar and Real Sociedad. This match was played behind closed doors on March 10th. Now when the return is close, there was an idea that they could play matches every day until the end of July. The first match after the return should be played between Sevilla and Real Betis.
Serie A
Serie A didn’t stop at the same time in every part of the country, because different areas went in the lockdown at a different time. The last time when they played a match in the normal conditions was on March 1st, and the last played match behind the closed doors is on March 9th.
There were many different dates for the start, but the final decision was on the 20th of June. After they resume this season they will need to play 12 matches plus eight postponed matches. The first day after the return of this championship we should see a match between Torino and Parma and the match between Verona and Cagliari.
Primeira Liga
Portugal league has 10 more rounds to play. And on the top of the league, we can see a hard battle between Porto and Benfica. The Primeira League will be back on the 4th of June. The first match will be played between Portimonense and Gil Vicente.
Ligue 1

European leagues predictions
The situation in the many leagues before the lockdown was very intense. After the season will be resumed, everything will depend on how good teams prepared during all this time. In La Liga, we can see a fight for the first place between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Right now Barcelona is two points in front of Real. But with a good schedule, everything can change in a short time.
In the Serie A is almost the same situation as in La Liga. On top of the table, we can see Juventus and Lazio. Juventus has only one point in front of the second Lazio. For sure this will be an interesting fight for the first place.
Only for the Premier League, we can say that the situation is clear. At the top of the table, we can see Liverpool with 82 points, and the second Manchester City has 57. But the interesting situation will be in the fight for the other places which are leading in the Champions League and Europa League.
Primeira Liga has the same situation as La Liga and Serie A. On the top of the table we can see two teams, Porto and Benfica. Porto is on the first with one point in front of the Benfica.
